Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks. Major/Essential Functions - Cleaning is done according to the standards set by the department. Proper methods and procedures should be followed at all times in all areas with consistent accuracy.
- Promotes and practices safety in the workplace. Maintains an accident-free operation. Uses and cares for equipment safely and properly. Chemicals are used safely and properly to avoid waste or accidents.
- Performs work including emergency cleanup of rooms, summer conferences and cleanup, specialty floor or carpet cleaning, winter break cleaning, weekend work schedule, and all related work as required. Paying attention to detail in all areas.
- Reports needed repairs and property damage. Leaves work areas clean and orderly, including all work-related equipment, custodial closets, and break room areas.
Required Qualifications Ability to understand simple written and verbal instructions as evidenced by the completion of an elementary school education. Ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to learn materials, methods, and equipment used in assigned work; ability to operate cleaning equipment; ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time.
