OVERVIEW: The primary responsibility of the Deputy Chief Credit Officer is to support the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) in various duties including managing, directing, and controlling the loan activities of the Bank in the areas of financial analysis, underwriting, portfolio management and, based on the Bank's Lending Authorities, will approve or decline loan requests. Specific areas of focus will include corporate finance, public finance, and general commercial and industrial clients with upper middle to large market customers. The role provides guidance to lending officers, portfolio managers, underwriters and credit analysts with respect to the Bank's Credit Policies and compliance with banking regulations. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Responsible for adherence to all compliance program, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules by establishing due dates. --- Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position. --- Oversee the Credit Administration function, which includes credit guideline, appraisal services, collections, and special assets. --- Responsible for adherence to all compliance program, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules by establishing due dates. --- Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position. --- The Deputy Chief Credit Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to, reviewing and approving credit requests to ensure that proposed loans adhere to existing policy and guidelines, direct the work of underwriters and senior credit administrators and credit administrators, ensuring that the credits adhere to existing credit policy and guidelines and applicants are deemed credit-worthy. --- The Deputy Chief Credit Officer will approve or reject the more complex or sizeable loans or loan commitments, where difficult questions of policy or credit risk may be involved. --- The Deputy Chief Credit Officer will establish, implement, and manage administrative and review systems and procedures to protect the quality and profitability of the loan portfolio, identify potential problem credits; work with special credits group to minimize losses, and coordinate the efforts of underwriters, credit analysts, and processing personnel. --- The Deputy Chief Credit Officer must be up to date on all regulatory laws, stay abreast of economic and industry trends. --- Develops, recommends and monitors credit policies and guidelines, assuring regulatory compliance. --- Ensures appropriate credit risk ratings. --- Assist the CCO the new Current Expected Current Loss (CECL) methodology method (Model Framework). --- Assist all lending Relationship Managers in the analysis and structure of credit. --- Interfaces with regulators and supervisory agencies on credit related matters. --- Assists the Accounting/Finance department on credit related accounting, call report, and Loan Loss issues. --- Assists and lead the development and execution of comprehensive stress testing frameworks to evaluate the impact of economic stress scenarios on the credit portfolio, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.
