Duties--- Serves as an installation Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment Victim Advocate--- Maintains support and follow-up contact with sexual assault/sexual harassment victims throughout the lifecycle of the case--- Assists the installation SARC in the development and delivery of comprehensive sexual assault/sexual harassment training--- Represents the SAPR installation program both military and civilian agencies Requirements Conditions of Employment--- Must complete initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s)--- U.SCitizenship is required--- Males must be registered for been identified as a position of public trust IAW DOD policyMinimum of a Tier 3 background investigation must be conducted every 5 years IAW the OPM requirement--- Must obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification and recertification from the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA), as specified in DoD and AF policy--- The work requires the employee to drive a POV/GOVAn appropriate, valid driver's license is required for this position--- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction ProgramEmployee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing--- Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety--- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions--- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0101, Social Science SeriesBASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcriptsOR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcriptsOR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the fieldNOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcriptsIn addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systemsExamples of specialized experience include: 1) Applying knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual assault/sexual harassment2) Using a knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., to include the Air Force organizational structure, management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocacy, and related interpersonal violence3) Providing knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault/sexual harassment4) Applying knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault/sexual harassment training5) Applying tact and diplomacy during interactions with internal and external officials during difficult and sensitive circumstances and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide victim support/assistance6) Employing various methods and techniques typical of a sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocate program, including crisis intervention, situational assessment, and analyzing the needs of the victim to provide support and/or assistance to them in the resolution of complex problemsOR EDUCATION:3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.Ddegree or Ph.Dor equivalent doctoral degreeNOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcriptsOR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcriptsFEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligibleOne year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 levelTIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the
