Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:The PT Trainer, Upward Bound provides training to high school students for the Upward Bound program. This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Provides training to high school students for Upward Bound program to prepare students for the upcoming academic year2. Develops training materials for assigned areas3. Takes attendance; maintains records of assignments and grades for all students4. Creates an interactive learning environment5. Provides training for standardized testing6. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the Upward Bound Program or TRIO programsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWorking knowledge of the Internet, knowledge of common office software including Microsoft Word and ExcelGood organizational skills PHYSICAL ABILITIES:The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile.
