Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License Certifications: NRP, BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, ACLS Must-Have: Fetal Monitoring Description: This position involves working in a unit with a mix of labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum services as well as NICU. The unit features 24 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum beds and 10 NICU beds. Patient ratios include 1:1-2 for labor and delivery, 1:4 for postpartum, 1:4 for well infants, and 1:2-3 for NICU. Staffing includes RNs, unit clerks, patient care technicians, and lactation consultants. Key equipment includes fetal monitoring systems and Alaris IV pumps. The documentation system used in the unit is CPN. Staff members are expected to work 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. There is a no floating policy in place. Patient experience requirements involve skills in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation program (NRP), and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). Advanced skills may be required as well as procedures including labor and C-section. The dress code for the unit consists of black and hot pink uniforms.
