The Quality Technician, who works under the direction of the Quality Supervisor is responsible for the day to day testing and inspecting of incoming materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed. - Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required - Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and generates a report (NCR). - Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements. - Investigates and reports production line failures - Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. - Selects materials for tests and materials for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics. - Assists with the PPAP process. - Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Requirements: - High School diploma or equivalent - Five years related experience. - Basic Computer Skills - Familiar with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, force testers, CMM and RF Scanners - Familiar with reading blueprints, understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. - Knowledge of the metric system Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
