If you're ready to start learning, growing and making an impact with a career in fintech, we'd like to know: Are you FIS?About the role:As a Database Administrator you could work with bleeding edge technology as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests.What you will be doing: - Providing expert advice and direction in database/Oracle Applications technologies and disciplines which includes Database Administration and upgrades
- Being responsible for Database operations, performance and monitoring of various versions of Oracle RAC and non-RAC databases, database tools and services
- Working with business analysts and application development staff to develop database environments, responding to and resolving production issues and maintaining change control and testing
- managing mission critical Oracle Applications and data warehouse environments and Oracle databases
- Designing, programming, debugging and modifying software enhancements.
- Interacting with product managers and users to define requirements and modifications.
- Participating in software design meetings to determine technical requirements.
- Design and implement high-performance transactional database solutions using Oracle Database technologies.
- Develop database schemas, tables, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects to support application requirements.
- Optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability through effective database design, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
- Collaborate with software engineers, application developers, and system administrators to integrate database solutions into software applications and infrastructure environments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database developers and engineers.
- Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resolution of database-related issues.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database architecture and development.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of database development processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Complete understanding of Oracle infrastructure/RAC/EXADATA etc.What you will need:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) working as a Database Architect or Database Developer with a focus on transactional database development using Oracle Database technologies.
- Proficiency in Oracle Database technologies, including Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Data Guard and preferably in Oracle RAC.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling techniques.
- Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability enhancements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines.
- A bachelor's in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent experience.you would be a rockstar candidate if you have:
- A master's in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of basic T-SQL language (ad-hoc)
- Strong knowledge of Stored Procedures, Functions, and Views
- Strong knowledge of working with local and global temp tables
- Good knowledge of basic SQL DML/DDL operations
- Basic knowledge of relational databases normalized to fourth form
- Strong working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio development environment
- Good knowledge of SQL Server Profiler
