Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities, as well as POC Testing, EKGs, Phlebotomy, as needed - .Performs IV starts and urinary foley catheter insertions, according to competency guidelines. -Reports to: Director Medical/Surgical B2 & A4 -Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent - Required
State Certified Nurse Aide, can be considered without High school diploma or equivalent
Patient Care Technician education - Preferred - -Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer proficiency required - -Required Skills
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross Certification) must be obtained within 30 days of employment if not current upon hire. - -Required Skills
Licenses: State of Tennessee Certified Nurse Aide licensure or EMT licensure - Preferred
