JOB SUMMARY (Primary purpose of the position.)
The Digital Asset Specialist is responsible for facilitating digital asset upload and downloads. This role will review and edit assets, assign appropriate taxonomy and usage rights metadata to assets, and convert items to the desired format. The Digital Asset Specialist works with the digital publishing and content team to ensure the integrity of metadata, and properly catalog them to make them easy to find in the DAM portal.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, in PRIORITY order.)

Digital Asset Management
Ensures timely and accurate asset migration to digital asset management system.
Participate in data management clean-up and gap fill processes associated with complex content
Performing digital asset lifecycle maintenance activities, such as digital archiving and asset expiration
Receive digital assets and perform quality control to ensure they comply with a variety of customer / internal specifications. Proactively coordinate corrections with internal creative team / external agencies.
Enforce adherence to file naming conventions, based on type of asset. Create, document, and train on new naming conventions as needed.
Validate and update all asset metadata before uploading to the DAM system to ensure accuracy and consistency.
File assets according to established folder structure. Recommend changes to structure as business needs evolve.
Publish assets to internal and external portals with appropriate access rights and in accordance with project timelines.
Maintain DAM taxonomy, metadata schema, metadata templates, and other standardization solutions.
Follows content and publishing best practices, style guide standards, brand standards, and legal requirements in the content publishing process to assure quality and accuracy.
Ensures asset management activities follow digital accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.0 guidelines.
Communicates daily with internal and external teams regarding project tasks status.

High School Graduate/Equivalent
Associate's Degree Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Master's Degree Preferred
Doctorate Degree Required in
Medical Doctorate (MD) Required
Technical Training

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Required licenses, certificates, specific skills, personal traits, e.g., RN, CPA, able to type 90 wpm, detail orientation.)
Experience utilizing a Digital Asset Management system to organize and share assets.
Experience in digital asset taxonomy & metadata structure, SEO best practices, digital content management and project management.
Hands on experience with Adobe Creative Suite. Capable of identifying out-of-spec issues, such as incorrect clipping paths, transparent layers, and color mode.
Experience with workflow management tools a plus.
Proficient in HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and photo editing.
Familiarity with digital accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.0 guidelines (preferred).
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize an aggressive workload
Sharp attention to detail resulting in little to no errors in finished work and reducing need for unnecessary rounds of revisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders throughout organization.
Successful history of balancing priorities simultaneously, while working under tight time constraints and meeting deadlines.
Track record of learning and applying new technologies quickly.
High degree of collaboration & teamwork.
