Position PurposeThe Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for directing and leading HSE&Q processes at the site. The position is responsible for developing HSE&Q programs and processes - including the engagement and alignment of employees at all levels of the site - that lead to injury and incident-free performance and a robust safety culture. The position also plays an active role as a member of the site's leadership team and is expected to support all facets of the business. ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership for the administration and deployment of the health and safety, environmental and quality programs. - Drives the site safety culture through leading activities and measures.
- Keeps current health and safety, environmental and quality regulations, codes and standards.
- Works with other departments and onsite contractors to achieve regulatory compliance and safety targets.
- Conduct accident and injury investigations with results that focus on root cause and corrective action
- Prepares and attends external audits, reports audits results and recommend corrective actions and or preventive measures where needed.
- Maintains ISO 9001 certification.
- Acts as Site Incident commander and liaison with outside emergency services
- Acts as site security representative.
- Acts as site fire prevention and control representative.
- Establishes a safety-training curriculum working with site management.
- Responsible for site HSE&Q compliance reporting.
- Ensure HSE&Q programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations
- Develops and directs internal auditing processes designed to identify and correct deficiencies for all applicable functions where the position has designated responsibilities.
- Serves on plant HSE&Q committees and teams as needed and directed.
- Provides leadership for safety risk reduction, other HSE&Q risk assessments, MOC activities, incident investigations, and other HSE&Q activities.
- Acts as HSE&Q liaison between workforce and management. Knowledge and Skills Required
