Seeking BE/BC OBGYN to join talented team just outside of Myrtle Beach, SC. POSITION OVERVIEW: - Primarily outpatient clinical role with inpatient responsibilities
- Standard office hours (Mon-Thurs: 8am-5pm / Friday 8am-12pm)
- Protected administrative time ( 5 days clinic time with .5-day admin time per week)
- 36 patient contact hours / 4 admin hours
- Call and Town Call Schedule: Shared among all physicians on a 1:6 to 1:7 rotation
- On-call duties include phone consultations, attending deliveries, and providing emergency care as needed.
- Cerner EMR
- Dedicated nurse and shared medical assistant
- 7 physicians currently (2 more coming in the next 6mo-year) / 2 APPs and 1 CNM coming onboard PATIENT VOLUME & CENSUS:
- Average Patient Volume: 22-27 patients per day
- Patient Census: Women of all ages, from adolescent to geriatric care
- Demographics: Prenatal care, normal and high-risk pregnancies, well-woman exams, menopausal management, and gynecologic surgeries SCOPE OF WORK:
- Visit Types: Prenatal visits, routine annual exams, gynecologic problem visits, and surgical consultations.
- Typical Procedures: Deliveries (both vaginal and cesarean), hysterectomies, laparoscopic surgeries, and office procedures like IUD placements and colposcopies.
- High-Risk Transfers: Medical Center manages high-risk pregnancies up to 32 weeks gestation. High-risk deliveries requiring mechanical ventilation, therapeutic cooling, or neonatal surgery are transferred to McLeod (Level 3 NICU) or MUSC (Level 4 NICU). McLeod transfers are typically completed by ground within 2 hours; MUSC by helicopter within 45 minutes.
- Support Services: L&D, postpartum, nursery, and C-section OR are all located on the same floor for ease of access. The OB/GYN team is supported by in-house APRNs on the busiest days.
- L&D Setup: L&D services are across the hall from postpartum care (no LDRP model).
- Nursery Level: Medical Center operates a Level 2 nursery, with the OB/GYN physician attending high-risk deliveries and managing neonatal care down to 32 weeks gestation.
- Technology & Equipment: Access to modern equipment for diagnostics, imaging, and surgical procedures. Hospital scrubs are provided for inpatient duties. Medical Center has been ranked in the state of South Carolina on Forbes' America's Best-in-State Employers list for 2024!
