Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Night Shift) Job Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 Weeks) Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) – Night shift only Region: Warwick,RI Department: Emergency Department Positions Available: 2 Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The RN collaborates with physicians, healthcare professionals, and patient families to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in accordance with the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Professional Nursing Practice. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions, and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient care delivery. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in an emergency department setting. Provide rapid assessment and stabilization of patients with acute illnesses or injuries. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver effective patient care. Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions according to physician orders and established protocols. Monitor patient conditions, document findings, and communicate updates to the healthcare team. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement protocols. Respond to emergency situations with critical thinking and clinical expertise. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Rhode Island required. Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department experience preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required. Additional specialty certifications may be required based on department standards. Strong clinical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in the English language. Additional Information 13-week contract with potential for extension. Night shift schedule is mandatory. Candidates must be available to work nights only.
