Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant - Discipline: Therapy - Start Date: 07/06/2026 - Duration: 15 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Local Contract Job Description - Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant - Discipline: Allied (Rehab) - Start Date: 07/06/2026 - End Date: 10/16/2026 - Duration: 15 weeks - Shift: Monday- Friday 8am- 4:30pm - Employment Type: Contract Job Requirements Candidates MUST have the following: - Pennsylvania State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant - Required - CPR Certification (within 90 days of hire)- Required - Associate Degree from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program- Required - At least one-year pediatric experience - Preferred - Experience with neurologic/brain injury population or patients of higher medical acuity. - Level 4 Worker Job Description: - Under the direct, on-premise supervision of a licensed physical therapist, provides physical therapy treatment procedures to an assigned inpatient caseload. - Maintains an orderly environment in the physical therapy gym and treatment areas. Clinical • Reads and reviews the medical record to understand the patient's diagnosis, precautions, goals and treatment plans. Asks questions regarding unclear information. • Provides direct interventions in individual or group sessions as planned, especially gait training, exercise and modalities. Can treat patients in any setting in the hospital, including the ambulatory network. • Evaluates the patient's response to intervention and documents patient progress in the chart. Instructs patients and parents in home program, especially gait training and transfer. • Informs the physical therapist of progress/problems with specific patients. • Performs care coordination tasks associated with patient care, including communication with hospital and community providers, tracking of medical equipment, etc. Academic • Maintains current skills and knowledge by identifying own learning needs, both formally and informally, to practice a lifestyle of life-long learning.
