Posted Job Title Research Specialist C (Department of Hematology/Oncology) Job Profile Title Research Specialist C Job Description Summary We are looking for a highly motivated, organized, and vibrant individual to join the Liquid Biopsy Laboratory as a Research Specialist C. The new hire will have many responsibilities in the laboratory including, but not limited to performing analyses of liquid biopsy materials, assisting with the developing and testing of new technologies, assisting with the day to day coordination of laboratory staff, database management, and general lab duties. This individual will interact with other lab members, vendors, and investigators. As a result, this individual is expected to already have some experience and knowledge specific of a laboratory environment in order to be able to rapidly learn and execute experiments independently, help troubleshoot problems, analyze basic data, eventually help train other lab staff, and help oversee scheduling of patient consents and blood draws. This individual will interact with investigators and junior researchers daily to assist with the day to day operations of the laboratory. This individual will help troubleshoot any problems that may occur during an experiment, and help maintain absolute quality control using standard protocols. This individual will assist with supervision of more junior research specialists, co-ops, and undergraduate research assistants. Activities include involvement in daily and weekly scheduling and prioritization of resources, preparation of SOPs, ordering, inventory monitoring, usage logs, and maintenance and QC of instrumentation. This individual is expected to work independently but to keep the Director of the lab appraised of any technical issues or operational problems. Qualifications * Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
