The Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Division of Infectious Diseases seeks an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or M.D./M.P.H. physician-scientist at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. The successful applicant is expected have a track record of scholarly achievement in basic, translational, or clinical research, and external grant funding commensurate with their experience and proposed rank. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to an equitable and diverse environment in research, mentoring, teaching and service. The successful candidatewill be provided with a generous start-up package, lab space (if applicable), and protected research time.OHSU is the only academic medical center in the State of Oregon. The Division of Infectious Diseases comprises 24 primary and affiliated faculty. The Division's inpatient clinical activities include 2 adult General ID inpatient consult services and a dedicated Transplant ID consult service, all of which see inpatients at OHSU and the affiliated Portland Veteran's Administration Hospital, which is physically connected to the OHSU hospital via a skybridge. Clinical activity on the General or Transplant inpatient Infectious Diseases consult service will be expected. Outpatient clinical activity at OHSU includes a robust OPAT program, general and transplantinfectious diseases, an internationally-renowned nontuberculous mycobacteria clinic, and HIV primary care.Infectious disease-related research at OHSU is a highly collaborative effort that spans the entire University, including but not limited to the Division of Infectious Diseases, the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (MMI), the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute (VTGI), the School of Dentistry, and the School of Public Health. Select areas of existing strength include immunology, virology including HIV, herpesviruses, and vector-borne viruses, parasitology, fundamental host-pathogen interactions, TB and NTM, and Computational Biology/Informatics.Expanding efforts in Global Health research represent an opportunity for the right candidate. OHSU's NIH-funded Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) provides a foundation for performing clinical and translational research. The Oregon National Primate Research Center at OHSU provides a unique opportunity for infectious disease and immunology research. Additionally, the Division has close working relationships with state and local public health departments.
