  These are some of the tasks you'll perform as a Patient Benefits Coordinator:
  
  • Respond to patient billing inquiries and partner with internal departments to resolve issues
  • Provide billing and payment information to patients and clients
  • Review insurance options, assist with applications, and educate patients on coverage
  • Manages work queues, processes adjustments, and stays updated on insurance programs
  • May conduct lead duties, provide training, perform quality audits, and other duties as assigned
    Qualifications:
    
    • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
    • One year's experience with billing credit or patient benefits, preferably in a medical office, is required
    • Experience in special programs such as State Managed Care plans is preferred
    • Affordable Care Act (ACA) Certification: Must pass the ACA exam within 90 days of employment
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 9 for bilingual differential pay
    • Ability to prioritize work and handle various tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
    • Ability to build effective relationships and interact professionally with patients, providers, and staff
    • Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records, Word, and Excel
    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing insurance is desired
