Job Description Psychiatrist – Region 3 (Mental Health) Location: Lucasville, OH 45699 Duration: Minimum 1 year from projected start date Schedule: Part-Time, 16–20 hours per week Shift Hours: Typically, between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible based on facility needs) Education Required: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO) Position Overview Seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Psychiatrist to provide on-site psychiatric services to a male incarcerated population on a part-time basis (16–20 hours per week). The provider will see approximately 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift, with a total caseload of 75–100 patients. The assignment is expected to last at least 6 months, with strong potential for extension or permanent placement based on performance and organizational needs. Key Responsibilities • Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment services using nationally recognized treatment standards • Conduct examinations and complete evaluations and reports • Order and interpret diagnostic tests • Manage and prescribe medications • Make referrals for specialized care or additional treatment as needed • Document all services in the electronic health record (EHR) system • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams • Perform duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and correctional healthcare standards • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews • Engage in collaborative agreements when required Required Credentials & Documentation • Comprehensive CV (including education with location and graduation year, training, and complete work history) • Active Ohio Medical License • Healthcare Provider-level CPR Certification • DEA Certification More...
