Category Behavioral & Health Supports Specific Facility To Be Determined Position Reports To Director of Clinical Services or Behavioral Health Supervisor, or Behavioral Health Specialist II Work Schedule Full-time: 7.5 hours per day / Year Round (150 hours every 4-weeks) Overview The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking to hire a Behavioral Health Specialist, Level I (BHSI). Under supervision, BHSI employees provide behavioral assessments and design support strategies for assigned individuals. The nature of work for the BHSI position will include, but is not limited to the following: Under supervision perform behavioral assessment and contribute to inclusion of behavioral health strategies in the ISP - Under supervision provide consultation, recommendations for program placement, objectives and intervention strategies. (This may include referral to outside community agencies).
- Under supervision evaluate and conceptualize the needs of individuals on the basis of history, test data, interviews, and direct observation.
- Apply knowledge from professional literature whenever possible.
- Under supervision, engage with individuals via group-focused and other direct interventions.
- Develop or assist in developing data collection procedures and behavioral programs. Monitor implementation of behavior management policies and procedures. Train staff in the implementation of techniques when needed.
- Assist in the collection of program evaluation data in accordance with department or agency direction.
- Provide systematic training for Cuyahoga DD and other staff and parents.
- Maintain all required statistics and records and service-related documentation including but not limited to treatment plans, assessments and progress notes.
- Will consistently meet departmental productivity requirements.* STARTING SALARY: The salary listed in the header is the minimum salary for a new hire in Pay Schedule D. Qualifications - Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or a discipline designated as an equivalent by the designated licensing board.
- Licensed as a Social Worker or Professional Counselor.
- Specific training in developmental disabilities.
- Certified as a Service and Support Administrator, which certification can be obtained following hire.
- Hold a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record according to Cuyahoga DD policy.
