This role is primarily responsible for the supervision, training, and development of new and advancing Forepersons, Assistant Superintendents, and Superintendents. Responsibilities include the direct supervision of large and complex projects as well. They are a well-established, forward-thinking, inclusive, and people-first firm with over 50 years of business success.DescriptionThe Senior Superintendent will be responsible for: - Supervises and mentors superintendents, forepeople, and/or field personnel.
- Identify training needs for the development of assigned Project Superintendents and field personnel.
- Ensure assigned Superintendents are trained on and performing their duties as described in their job description.
- Sees that all Company policies and rules are adhered to and takes appropriate actions when infractions occur.
- Assists Field Operations Manager in periodic performance evaluations of field personnel through the superintendents.
- Assists in coordinating and facilitating internal superintendent meetings.
- Communicates issues, events, performance, and progress with the Field Operations Manager.
- Participate in project pursuits, proposals, and presentations, as needed.
- Be on-site and manage all the activity on the site.
- Ensure all personnel on site are working safely and have a safe work environment.
- Plan and coordinate the work, and provide direction to subcontractors.
- Read the contract documents to know all parties' responsibilities, material requirements, and installation requirements for all of the work.
- Know and utilize the job cost report to not only see how costs are meeting the budget but also to plan the work to be below the budget.
- Maintain payroll records and submit them to the Payroll manager via Procore.
- Supervise and lead Marker's self-performed associates with hands-on participation when time allows or necessity dictates.
- Manage job site cleanliness.
- Show responsible management of the care and maintenance of Company-owned or rented equipment.
- Responsible for job site security.
- Keep and constantly update as-built drawings.
- Monitor the quality of all the work and be certain any work not meeting the quality standards set forth is corrected immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.ProfileThe Senior Superintendent will have:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience on construction projects in a Superintendent role.
- 7-10 years of experience managing Mixed-Use/Multifamily construction projects
- Structural Concrete experience preferred
- 2 years or more post-high school training preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using Procore.
- Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the management of site logistics and contract operations.
- Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
- Experience supervising multiple superintendents on all-size projects.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent team development skills and leadership abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with architects, engineers, and clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team (the project manager, senior project manager, project executive, etc.) to keep them informed of progress and problems on the site.
- Ability to communicate with all types of individuals and give clear directions to workers.
- Have a noticeable element of pride in yourself, your work, and everything within your control.
