Duke Women's Health of Brier Creek - 10207 Cerny St, Raleigh, NC



$10,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible - Paid out in 4 equal installments over 24 months in 6-month increments.

JOB SUMMARY:

Duke Women's Health Associates, a clinic in the Duke Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is seeking a full time sonographer to join our team. Duke Women's Health Associates has clinic locations in Raleigh, Durham and Morrisville; this position will be based primarily in Raleigh but may provide coverage in other locations as needed.



JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs and documents clinical assessment and diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to, obstetric, gynecologic, and interventional procedures.
Uses independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings.
Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the physician.
Coordinates with referring providers and other clinic staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided.
Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care.
Communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs.
Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies.
Performs infection control procedures such as vaginal probe HLD.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein.



JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); or equivalent combination of training and/or experience (may substitute with ARDMS certification on or before December 31, 2000)
Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty (ies) as appropriate.
Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
Level I RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within twelve (12) months of employment.
Must obtain ARDMS certifications in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.

JOB HOURS:

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
