Job Description

Clinical skills and leadership to direct, provide, and evaluate age specific patient care according to the department's scope of service.
Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes the nursing process: a. Collect patient data. Analyze the data to determine diagnosis. Identify expected outcomes. Plan care. Implement interventions identified in the plan. Evaluate the patient's progress towards outcomes. Utilizes the nursing process to efficiently perform comprehensive triage. - Documents nursing process and nursing assessment in nurses' notes as outlined in ED policy and procedure. Responds appropriately to emergency situations. Interventions are appropriate and outcomes evaluated based on data collection and interpretation relevant to health status of patient. Changes in the plan of care are made as the patient progresses to promote positive outcome with improvement in health status. ACLS required within six months. 2. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of their nursing practice.

Makes decisions and takes action on the behalf of patients in an ethical manner.

EDUCATION -
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing EXPERIENCE -
None required for beginning nurse/new graduates. Requirements for specialty areas are defined as 1-2 years of experience in specialty area or related clinical experience. LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION -
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina; BLS certification, ACLS certification within one year. Additional certifications such as PALS, TNCC, and ENPC encouraged but not required.
