Trauma Medical Director Opportunity UNC Health Pardee is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trauma Medical Director to develop and lead our new level 3 trauma program. The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background in trauma care, exceptional leadership skills, and a vision for providing high-quality emergency medical services to our community.Position SummaryAs the Trauma Medical Director at UNC Health Pardee, you will play a pivotal role in the advancement of our trauma services. Position includes: - Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive level 3 trauma program, ensuring alignment with local, state, and national standards.
- Collaborate with hospital administration to strategize and execute plans for the trauma service line, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in trauma care.
- Ensure compliance of the trauma program with all regulatory and accreditation bodies, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
- Provide direct patient care in the trauma center and participate in the on-call
- Lead performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives related to trauma
- Foster relationships with other hospitals and healthcare organizations for patient transfer and referrals.
- Develop and facilitate educational programs and training for the trauma team and hospital staff.Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited
- Board-certified in General Surgery with an additional Fellowship in Trauma Surgery or Surgical Critical Care.
- Current, unrestricted medical
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in trauma care, with at least two (2) years in a leadership role.
- Proven knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for a level 3 trauma
