Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system that integrates a premier hospital with a major medical college, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse II for our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Neurological Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU). This position requires a compassionate and skilled nurse who will provide critical care to patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. You will be an essential part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of evidence-based care, contributing to our mission of patient care, education, and research. Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of patient care. Interpret, explain, and ensure compliance with medical procedures and policies. Participate in the development and modification of care plans in conjunction with other health care professionals. Administer medications and consult with healthcare providers regarding patient treatment plans. Assist in surgery and other medical procedures, prepare patients and manage postoperative care. Advanced proficiency in using medical software for patient care management. In-depth understanding of critical care protocols and procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments. Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of practice. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
