JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Anesthesiologist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Plattsburgh, NY • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Call • Coverage Period: 06/01/2026 – 09/30/2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00a – 3:30p (2 consecutive weeks/month) • On-Call Shift Schedule: On-call coverage as scheduled COVERAGE DATES • June 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026 • Provider ideally covers 2 consecutive weeks per month • Additional coverage may be requested depending on schedule needs PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and healthy pediatric patients • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 4–5 surgical cases per day • Case Mix: Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Plastic Surgery, Vascular, Colorectal Surgery, ENT, GI, and Urology FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Operating Rooms: 9 main operating rooms • Trauma Level: Level III • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard anesthesia and surgical equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary surgical team • Support Staff Available: CRNAs, anesthesia technicians, physician assistants, nurses, and OR technicians • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental locum coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: May be available for candidates with clean files and no malpractice history • Credentialing Timeline: Not Specified COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Administration of anesthesia for bread and butter surgical cases • Regional anesthesia blocks for operating room procedures • Obstetric anesthesia coverage for labor and delivery cases JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active New York Medical License • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology • DEA: Required • Certifications: ACLS and MMR immunization required • Experience: Prior hospital-based anesthesia experience preferred • Other Qualifications: Ability to work within a multidisciplinary operating room team DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide anesthesia services for scheduled surgical procedures • Deliver anesthesia care for orthopedic, general surgery, OB/GYN, and related cases • Provide regional anesthesia blocks when appropriate for surgical cases • Participate in call coverage including obstetric anesthesia cases • Collaborate with CRNAs, surgeons, and operating room staff to ensure safe patient care Top Reasons to Choose a Locum Tenens Assignment Access professional development resources and educational programs offered by different facilities, staying updated with the latest medical practices and guidelines.
