Dental Hygienist (RDH) – Johnstown, NY Dunning Family Dental is a trusted, patient-centered practice located in the heart of Johnstown, NY. With an average 5-star patient rating, our team is known for professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence. We are seeking a licensed, compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our growing team. Schedule Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) Friday: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with break) Full-time Duties & Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing Conduct periodontal assessments and charting Take and interpret dental radiographs in compliance with regulations Administer preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants Identify signs of oral disease and communicate findings to the dentist Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care Reinforce treatment recommendations and provide post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate patient records Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow Requirements Valid New York Dental Hygienist license Current CPR/BLS certification Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong clinical precision Compassionate, patient-focused approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred: Previous clinical experience Familiarity with Dentrix Experience with periodontal therapy and patient education programs Ability to administer local anesthesia (if permitted by NY law) Pay & Compensation $45.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience Health insurance Dental benefits Retirement plan PTO and sick pay Supportive and collaborative work environment Apply today to join a respected, community-focused dental practice committed to delivering high-quality care in a comfortable and welcoming setting.
