In accordance with NRC regulations assumes responsibility for all radioisotope utilization, storage, and safety. • Required: New York State Department of Health Licensure, Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), New York State License-Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Preferred: NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board
• Experience: 2 years Radiologic Technologist, 2 years as a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State License-Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• BLS within 3 months of hire. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Details and clarifies the procedures in administration of the radioactive drugs.
  • Monitors the administered radioactive drug in a patient's system by tracking it using nuclear medicine equipment to include scanners and computer systems and imaging the results for interpretation.
  • Maintains proper stocking, safekeeping, and discarding of radioactive drugs or pharmaceuticals in keeping with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient, family, and staff and verifies pregnancy status if appropriate per department and regulatory standards.
  • Follows organizational standards to include but not limited to patient identification, patient education, consents, and order verification and infection control
  • Participates in all QA/QC procedures as designated and maintains standards of these programs. This includes processes involving nuclear medicine equipment, image quality, documentation and radioisotope reporting and control.
  • Maintains, provides and reports regulatory information and required documentation to the Radiation Safety Officer and Committee.UNION:1199-721 - LPN & Technical (CPH) Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible EDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE:$34.56 - $51.26 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
