Essential Functions:
Accountable for carrying out a range of guest service activities and delivering the best quality of service in a prompt, polite, and expert manner by abiding by policies and procedures and brand service standards. Provide customer service to hotel guests, prepare, and maintain nightly audit reports. This position has been evaluated for compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and is subject to premium pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a payroll week.

Perform general clerical and customer service responsibilitiesAnswer telephonePost charges, compute bills, collect payment, and make change for the guestsMake and confirm reservationsMonitor room availabilityBlock roomsSet-up complimentary continental breakfast in the morningFinalize transactions completed during the day and process credit card transactionsCreate, print, file and transmit required reportsCompile daily sales figures and complete daily reportsMaintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environmentSalary:$15.00/hour; 16 hours per week
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
Program wake-up callsHandle guest mail and messagesOpen and close shifts making cash drops as necessaryMaintain breakfast room and coffee area as neededComplete End of Month proceduresProvide guests with information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotelProvide guests with directions and information regarding the local areaPerform laundry duties as neededAssist in checking all lobby fixtures, equipment and conditions for proper operation, settings, and maintenance. Reports deficienciesPerform light cleaning functions as needed to promote safety, health and environmental concerns of hotel guests, visitors of the University and fellow employeesParticipate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols.Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned Supports and assists in creating an evolving culture of mentoring and rich engagement opportunities for studentsMaintains a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competence and respect for a wide range of identities and experiences, therefore welcoming and supporting all faculty, staff and students and expanding access to the AU experienceQualifications-Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High School Diploma requiredMinimum of one year of bookkeeping experience and/or hotel experienceMust be customer oriented, well-organized, have excellent interpersonal and analytical skillsMust be computer literate, able to work independently and comprehend reports and instructionsPhysical Demand & Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required. Stairs and uneven surfaces may be present; artificial lifts, etc. may or may not be available. The position may require the incumbent to walk outdoors in all types of weather to other buildings or offices located on the campus. The Campus is located in an area that contains numerous hills and slopes and may not always be fully accessible for mobility impaired individuals.
