This role involves a diverse set of responsibilities, including plant preservation, painting, mechanical maintenance, and repair tasks. The Utility Mechanic/Painter will play a crucial role in inspecting and maintaining rotating machinery and equipment, contributing to preventive maintenance activities, and assisting in various plant projects.Key Responsibilities: - Perform plant preservation and painting tasks to ensure the longevity and appearance of the facility.
- Conduct mechanical maintenance and repair work on rotating machinery and equipment.
- Engage in preventive maintenance activities on pumps, fans, bearings, motors, screw conveyors, gearboxes, and other relevant equipment.
- Assist in the modification and addition of plant projects to enhance overall efficiency.
- Monitor Confined Spaces and Hot Work/fire watch protocols.
- Participate in job setup and break down procedures.
- Execute various tasks as assigned by supervisors.Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an industrial environment, focusing on repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment and plant preservation.
- High school diploma and a valid driver's license are required.
- Formal technical, military, or apprenticeship training is desired.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, especially during non-outage periods and warmer months.Skills and Competencies:
