Job Summary:We are actively searching for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a comprehensive background in health administration to partner with instructional designers and department faculty to create high-quality online, asynchronous courses for a newly approved Bachelor of Health Administration online degree program. It would be beneficial for applicants to have a solid foundation in curriculum development and online education, as well as hands-on experience in teaching in online and face-to-face courses within the health administration domain. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and refining online courses that are not only academically rigorous but also innovative and engaging, catering to the educational needs of non-traditional adult students aspiring to become leaders in the health sector.Key Responsibilities:Course Design & Development: As a SME for the course topic, you'll partner with our instructional design team to develop online health administration courses using evidence-based instructional design theories, practice, and methods. Course topics will cover foundational aspects of healthcare management, policy, law, economics, and ethics, along with the practical applications of these principles in real-world settings.Curriculum Innovation: Create, evaluate, and enhance course content to align with the latest industry trends, accreditation standards, and technological advancements.Teaching Excellence: Leverage teaching expertise to integrate student engagement and learning outcomes into the design process, crafting compelling and effective online learning experiences that cater to a variety of learning styles.Technology Integration: Select and incorporate appropriate educational technologies to create a dynamic and interactive online learning environment.Faculty Collaboration: Work closely with the college leadership and faculty to translate health administration subject matter expertise into online courses that reflect current industry practices and comply with curriculum policies and standards.Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews of course content to ensure quality, accuracy, and relevance for final review by the department faculty team. Prepare courses for review by departmental faculty, internal quality assurance teams, and use QM standards to guide course quality and decisions throughout course design process.Assessment Design: Create robust assessments to evaluate student performance and learning outcomes in line with program objectives.Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in health administration, Public Health Education, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A Doctorate or terminal degree in Public Health or Health Administration is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in health administration and instruction, including direct experience in online course development and teaching.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of online accreditation standards and experience with curriculum development aligned with accreditation requirements. More...
