Description POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all pre-employment testing including required assessments and implementation and documentation of PPD testing and follow-up. Administers Worker's Compensation cases in conjunction with the third-party administrator, and is fully versed in OSHA and New Mexico Workers' Compensation Law. Conducts basic ergonomics assessments. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: - Graduation of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program OR graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: - Current LPN OR RN licensure in the State of New Mexico or compact state. - C. O. H. N. certification preferred. - BLS issued through the American Heart Association required. SKILLS: - Effective interpersonal, customer-service, critical thinking, nursing and problem-solving skills to provide employee assessment Demonstrates ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to act in a manner that supports the mission of the hospital Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of applications Working knowledge of OSHA and Worker's Compensation - EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in occupational health, infection control or employee wellness preferred. NATURE OF SUPERVISION: -Responsible to: Employee Health Supervisor -ENVIRONMENT: - Bloodborne pathogen - - B Requires knowledge and practice of safety standards including Bloodborne Pathogen policy and practice. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious disease and x-ray in course of normal duties. Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment. Subject to stressful professional relationships. Working hours are varied with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moves or assists in moving ; (including but not limited to lifting or pushing equipment and/or supplies up to 25 pounds; frequent and prolonged standing. Must be able to handle emergency/crisis situations, prolonged, extensive or considerable standing and walking. Requires heavy physical effort; push and/or transfer patients or equipment and supplies. Requires considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Ability to judge distance and space relationships, see peripherally, distinguish and identify different colors.
