Responsibilities - Demonstrate expert knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup including sterilization methods.
- Support physician's surgical practice in a variety of procedures including a specialty in the operating room.
- Function as a team member in planning for special needs of patients.
- Consistently demonstrate performance in a manner conducive to safe, efficient and swift completion and turnover of a surgical procedure.
- Ensure accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments used in all procedures at all times.
- Responsible for completing basic OR Tech competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.
- Take ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
- Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understand instructions and share knowledge.
- Cooperate and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service".
Qualifications Job Requirements - High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
- Six (6) months experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
