Attention all housing professionals - Realtors, Real Estate Agents, Landlords, Apartment Managers, Leasing Coordinators, and Property Managers! PeopleShare is looking for a Housing Navigator in Vineland, NJ 08360 for a role with a non-profit that helps homeless Veterans find housing. Candidates that are successful in this role could be a landlord, realtor, or someone who understands the private housing market. Customer service and being comfortable on the phone is key in this role, with the ability to network with people and host virtual events. Title: Housing Navigator Location: Vineland, NJ 08360 (primary office) Salary: Full-time Direct Hire: $65-70k/year Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30 PM, 30 minute lunch. Travel Requirement: 50%+ in Southern NJ counties, vehicle provided Overview: Provides housing counseling, search assistance and other functional support for Veteran households. Provides oversight and coordination of building private landlord contacts, networks, communications and events to provide homeless Veteran households with connection to permanent housing options within Southern New Jersey. This position provides coordination with the Landlord Engagement Specialist to increase available affordable housing options. Responsibilities: - Support Case Managers in assisting clients with development and implementation of plans to solve housing crises with acceptable and achievable housing solutions ensuring a focus on "housing first"
- Provides connection and services for housing tours and housing inspections
- Provide housing search assistance and housing counseling, including presentations and supporting materials
- Builds, maintains and updates lists of landlord and other affordable housing resources
- Negotiate, mediate and facilitate positive landlord/tenant relationships
- Assist with payments of temporary financial assistance to third parties
- Assist in conducting outreach to identify and provide services for target populations, especially through Continuum of Care forums
- Successfully completes and attends all required trainings, events, meetings, conferences
- Provides all reporting and outcomes time Client Satisfaction:
- Assist clients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
- Identify yourself in a pleasant and positive manner.
- Participates in case management meetings.
- Coordinate, through case management, an active behavioral health treatment plan when appropriate.
- Provides educational presentations related to functional life skills, time management, anger management, communication skills, values clarification, budgeting, independent living and parenting skills. Requirements:
