Daily tasks also involve operating cryopods with liquid nitrogen, assisting analysts with sample retrieval, verifying sample integrity, and monitoring cryopod expiry times. Additionally, the role encompasses managing logbook entries and eLIMS data, replacing and labeling non-hazardous and hazardous waste containers, disposing of used goggles, and ensuring the laboratory Support Technician adhere to current and applicable procedures, standards, and GMP regulations.The Laboratory Support Specialist typically works with a team of sixty (60) Analysts within the laboratory of the Quality Control department. You will be responsible for: - Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of various lab areas
- Operate and refill cryopods with liquid nitrogen in the warehouse.
- Assist analysts in retrieving samples from the warehouse for the team.
- Act as a verifier, ensuring sample integrity and compliance.
- Maintain communication with analysts to monitor the expiry time of cryopods.
- Utilize electronic systems for execution and documentation of testing.
- Enter sample information into the logbook and eLIMS as required.
- Request logbooks from Document Control and ensure their timely return.
- Monitor the usage of Avantor reagents for compliance and inventory management.
- Dispose of goggles and pick up new bins for lab use, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with all applicable procedures, EHS, and GMP regulations
- Other duties will be assigned, as necessary.Qualifications / Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Education: Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related scientific fieldExperience Required:
- 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Experience with Quality Control documents
- Written and verbal communication skillsPreferred:
- Experience with eLIMs or equivalent systemsOther:
- Ability and flexibility to work 10-hour shifts between the operational hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Sunday through Wednesday) and/or (Wednesday through saturday), and provide occasional support on the weekends or other shifts
- The ability to meet the physical demands (lift up to 20 lbs, stand or sit for extended periods of time in a laboratory setting)
- The anticipated base pay range for this position .Additional Information:The anticipated base pay range for this position is $59,000 to $74,000. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. ---
