Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Software Development Engineer for a contract position in Berkeley Heights, NJ. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Application Development Manager/Team Lead to spearhead the development of scalable, revenue-generating digital programs. Collaborate with a diverse group of internal stakeholders to define business opportunities and drive end-to-end digital solutions. This position is based in the vibrant community of Berkeley Heights, offering a dynamic work environment and a great quality of life.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Lead individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using AGILE methodologies.
Deliver high throughput, scalable, highly available, concurrent, and fault-tolerant software systems.
Act as a collaborative leader with the experience and capability to manage, motivate, and develop a team, attracting and retaining outstanding talent.
Exercise smart and sound judgment to navigate through changing and ambiguous environments.
Rapidly assess situations, absorb and apply new information for decision-making and direction setting.
Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems, identifying issues and roadblocks.
Apply validated quality software engineering practices through all phases of development.
Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression, and user acceptance testing, DevOps, and level two production support.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area.
Solid knowledge and experience in programming applications.
10 years of Java programming experience.
Experience with Microservices.
Versatile in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Proficiency in SQL.
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Familiarity with REST API and Git.
Dedicated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology.
High degree of independent judgment.
Able to solve complex problems.
