If you are a collaborative professional who shares our commitment to helping people with substance abuse and mental health issues turn their lives around - GATEWAY IS THE PLACE FOR YOU Sign on Bonus of $1,500 Available for Substance Abuse Counselors Certified Substance Abuse Counselors are responsible for: Completes comprehensive assessment of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and prepares individualized developmentally appropriate treatment plan. Provides individual and group counseling, and educational programs in accordance with treatment plan. Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients' progress and responses to treatments; and maintains related records and charts. Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring. Caseload typically includes some complex cases requiring more intensive services. Work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. Tues- Fri 12:30pm - 9:00pm and Sat - 7:30am - 4:00pm You will also be eligible to receive a shift differential of $3 per hour when working Tues-Friday, 12:30pm-9pm shift. Current certification or qualification as an alcohol, drug, or substance abuse counselor in New Jersey. (CADC, LCADC, LPC) Associates or Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, or substance abuse counseling preferred Ability to perform assessment, treatment planning, and counseling, and provide intensive services for some complex cases, with minimal supervision and direction, at a level normally acquired through two years prior experience in the substance abuse field Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises Annual Salary (based on experience and credentials): Certified/Licensed Counselor - $29-37/hour. Uncertified Counselor - $19-26/hour.
