About the Position: The Service Coordinator is responsible for connecting residents to programs, activities, benefits, and services that will allow them to live comfortably at the property for as long as they wish to remain there. If you are someone who can promote a positive social climate, empower residents to meet their own needs through education, training, and accessing services for themselves, and love to ask "why", then you may be the one we are looking for! This is a full-time, 32-hour-per-week position, for a 228-unit apartment community designed exclusively for low-income seniors, age 62 and above, or households with disability at any age, located in Trenton, NJ. Responsibilities: - Aid residents in applying for benefits such as food stamps, general relief, and Medicaid, as requested.
- Act as liaison between residents, management, and social service agencies as requested and indicated.
- Assist and advise residents and families of the services which may be helpful/necessary to maintain an independent living lifestyle.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on available community resources, including service availability, application procedures, and resident rights, both individually and as a group.
- Meet with service providers as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by QASCA/management. Qualifications:
- Prior related experience required
- Prior experience working with a Senior population is helpful
- Some supervisory experience may be desirable
- Case Management experience helpful
