About the role

The incumbent of this position designs and drives strategy for the Giving, Matching & Volunteering function ensuring implementation of key initiatives across the US business.

The ideal locations for this role are the East Hanover, NJ, Washington D.C, Manhattan, NY or Cambridge, MA sites but remote work may be possible (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific East Hanover site for periodic live meetings will be at the employee's expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 10-20% travel.

Your key responsibilities:

*In coordination with all businesses across the US, build a strong partner-centric strategy and lead execution of advocacy on high priority topics, including representation in key audiences and meetings.
*Build awareness across the organization about Novartis GM&V strategy and its programs.
*Provide analysis of trends in respective area and impact on Novartis and advise senior management.
*Liaise with key stakeholders (included but not limited to: ERC, Communications, P&O, Finance) to shape Novartis strategy, programs, and communications narratives.
*Set a meaningful set of KPIs to monitor progress to scale up and deep the program across US
*Lead and execute the operationalization of GM&V's impact measurement and valuation framework in the US, against the four-lens approach: impact on people, partners, Novartis and society
*Create a network with other parts of the organization, in order to gain traction (eg. Learning, Associate Engagement, etc)
*Maintain close partnership with the DE&I department and ERGs aiming to establish Novartis as a Partner of Choice
*Build relationships with the external world, reaching out to and connecting with existing and potential stakeholders like Non-profit organizations in the US, aiming at creating mutually beneficial partnerships. Act as a "key account manager" for these organizations.
*Ensure the successful implementation and management of new GM&V platform for giving, matching and skills-based volunteering and its integration into associates' daily cadence, aligned to Novartis partnership strategy and material priority causes & beneficiaries.
*Represent Novartis at relevant external events.
*Role model the Novartis values and behaviors.

    Role Requirements

    * Bachelor's degree Required, Advanced Degree a Plus
    * Fluency in English and at least one second language, with strong verbal and writing skills. Other additional language skills preferred.
    * Ability to work and lead in a networked and matrixed environment is required.
    * Collaboration and ease with senior Management is required
    * Volunteering experience is required
    * Working experience in multinational organizations and international exposure required
    * Understanding of the US giving, matching, and volunteering landscape - Ideally working internationally experience in the non-profit world is required
    * Previous exposure to people development (competency building, upskilling/reskilling, etc) is required
    * Extensive program, project and change management is required
    * Solid knowledge of corporate responsibility, ESG and trends in society is required
    * Impact measurement, non-Financial reporting, Strategic Impact Investment strongly is preferred

    Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $201,600-$302,400/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
