GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of semi-skilled and/or skilled tasks in maintenance and repair of facilities equipment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic maintains the facility and equipment to a safe, high efficiency and quality level and contributes to the sites overall strategic direction. He/she conducts preventative maintenance on equipment and ensures the proper stock of parts.--DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work safely and adhere to established safety principles and practices, including but not limited to PPEConduct walkthroughs of the building to note and complete any item needing attention regarding the overall condition of the building and equipmentPerform preventative maintenance on all equipment based on preapproved PM programAid in the install of new equipmentMaintain OSHA/corporate set guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for coworkersMaintain equipment ensuring high quality production efficiencyPerform lockout/tagout proceduresPerform machinery repairs in a safe, efficient mannerOther assignments as required, within job scope and abilities--JOB REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent GED; technical school a plus3 - 5 years of related field experience and complete knowledge of all duties listed aboveMechanical mindset with ability to think outside the boxStrong verbal communication skillsAbility to diagnose problems and find solutionsAbility to work in a fast paced, cold temperature environmentExperience working on processing machinery in the foodservice industry a plusAbility to read wiring diagrams and parts breakdowns a plusUnderstand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedureAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendanceAbility to work overtime, as warranted by business needsAbility to work effectively in the absence of close supervisionAbility to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment in a safe and effective mannerAbility to work in a fast paced, cold temperature environmentUnderstand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USAAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test More...
