For more information about the company and product line visit: www.sigsauer.com Position Summary: The Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector I is responsible for the performance of routine mechanical inspections per the technical documentation provided using pre-trained/determined methods to determine product acceptability. FLSA: Non-exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities - Collect and review inspection data to ensure component integrity and investigate/resolve discrepancies found during part inspection.
- Locate appropriate programs, load components into inspection equipment, run basic inspection programs, and report results.
- Identify features for inspection and correctly assign dimensional values and tolerances specified in print to a given feature.
- Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
- May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with and basic understanding of GD&T symbology assigned per ASME Y14.5.
- Fluent in setup of simple parts and understanding of proper use of basic mechanical inspection equipment.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
- Expected to contribute in primary areas of inspection for which training has been provided.
- Strong time management skills.
- Communicate effectively to supervision verbally and in written format regarding problems and corrective action.
- Participate in 5S workplace organizational activities and maintain work area in accordance with 5S standard.
