Description:The Fine Gardening & Seasonal Color Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of high-quality gardens and landscapes. This role involves overseeing a team of fine gardeners and encompasses planning, executing, and managing all aspects of fine gardening and seasonal color services. The manager prioritizes aesthetics, health, and sustainability in every project. Key Responsibilities: - Crew Supervision:
- Oversee exceptional gardening routine services and seasonal color enhancement.
- Supervise and lead fine gardening staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
- Oversee routine maintenance tasks such as pruning, planting, weeding, dividing, transplanting, and pest management.
- Oversee the installation and care of seasonal color enhancement displays.
- Implement sustainable gardening practices that promote healthy plant growth while minimizing environmental impact.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Address any client concerns or complaints regarding fine gardening and work to resolve them promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of the company's fine garden best management practices and industry trends to advise clients effectively.
- Complete annual and monthly fine gardening plans on time and present them to the client to keep them updated on the status of the gardens and key services.
- Design & Planning:
- Develop creative and visually appealing designs for seasonal flower displays using annuals.
- Select plant species based on color schemes, seasonal availability, and growth patterns.
- Create simple landscape designs that enhance the property's aesthetic appeal and meet client specifications.
- Select appropriate plant species considering climate, soil type, and overall garden design.
- Team Coordination:
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and strong communication.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and communication.
- Support account managers in estimating new services for existing clients and participate in sales meetings when needed to provide technical expertise and close sales.
- Oversee a service schedule and participate in timely meetings with Property Services leadership to schedule work on clients' properties.
- Participate in client hand-off meetings with the sales team to meet new Fine Gardening clients and understand the property scope of work.
- Participate in monthly divisional meetings with the Property Services management team.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Complete daily time review for crews assigned to Fine Gardening
- Maintain accurate records of job notes, budgets, and client interactions.
- Prepare reports and updates for management regarding project status and client feedback.
- Review work tickets regularly to ensure accurate material and time allocations and to update statuses.
- Leadership:
- Provide routine feedback to staff.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of staff.
- All other duties as assigned. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience in lieu of education).
- Proven experience in landscape design and fine gardening.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, gardening techniques, and pest control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, stand or sit for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.Schedule
