FAST Labs, the research and development arm of BAE Systems' Electronic Systems, is seeking a Chief Software Architect to join and lead a dynamic and diverse team developing and transitioning our Mission Application software framework in our R3 (RF, Electronics and Cyber) Product Line that feeds advanced mission capabilities to our production Business Areas.The Chief Software Architect for our Mission Application software framework will lead a cross-functional team to mature and maintain the software framework, deployed on CPU and GPU hardware, for our R&D portfolio. This will require balancing requirements of agile R&D development with formal requirements of existing internal transition software baselines. The Chief Software Architect will lead the development across various classification levels to ensure the architecture is scalable, extensible and maintainable for all stakeholders.Responsibilities - Lead a cross-functional team in maturing, evolving and maintaining the Mission Application software framework that services our R&D customers and internal transition stakeholders
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal transition partners
- Manage the deployment and sustainment of multiple software baselines being developed at various classification levels
- Employ agile software development and DevSecOps practices in the maturation and maintenance of the Mission Application software framework
- Define configuration management strategy that incorporates new research development as well incremental releases to internal stakeholders
- Be collaborative and entrepreneurial in the shaping and capture of CRAD to drive incorporation of new technologies into our current and future BAE Systems products and baselines
- Provide technical reviews and strategic guidance to programs and to portfolios of programs to align technology development, internal investments, and intellectual property capture to business needs

- Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of multi-disciplinary professional experience in software intensive systems.
- Experience in agile software development and DevSecOps
- Ability to obtain a TS clearance with SCI and SAP accesses
- Proven experience leading teams to develop new and existing products, solutions, and processes.
- Current knowledge in the technologies, methodologies, processes and tools used in the software industry with a demonstrated track record of deploying these on programsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
