Our client is currently seeking a EHS Specialist for their facility in the Reno NV area. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for overall coordination and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and company policies for the site. Responsible for supporting the environmental, safety and health related efforts for the site, including participation in all safety improvement process activities for the facility. Champion and support EHS implementation of programs, campaigns, and initiatives by: challenging plant employees to be active participants in pursuing EHS excellence; promoting consideration of EHS implications in all plant projects and activities; providing positive reinforcement and coaching to employees; and continually demonstrating appropriate behavior and leading by example.This job will have the following responsibilities:Follow and support all Company Safety, GMP and HACCP policiesConduct safety training for new employeesOrganize annual safety training for all employees, to include; Haz.Com., Confined Space, Fall Protection, Emergency Evacuation, Ergonomics, Blood borne Pathogens, LOTO, and facility inspectionsDevelop and conduct new training programs as neededComplete OSHA forms and reportsConduct incident investigations & complete Risk Assessment Lead and Implement Safety projectsQualifications & Requirements:Four (4) year degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline, preferred.Minimum 2-3 years experience in direct Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.Currently or ability to certify in CPR/First Aid/Blood Borne Pathogen.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other safety certification, preferred.LEAN manufacturing experience preferred Applied knowledge and working understanding of federal/county EHS requirements (i.e.; OSHA, EPA, NFPA), regulatory compliance, experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, EHS training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis.Knowledge of safety, industry hygiene and environmental testing methods.Incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills.Direct EHS experience must include leading and influencing industrial sites and organizations.Leadership, communication, influencing and collaborative skills.Organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.Takes responsibility for actions, respects confidentiality, completes commitments on time, and uses data to support decisions. Self-motivated to improve processes and performance. Can adapt and reapply new ideas and methods to improve team/plant performance. Knowledge of Behavior Based Safety.
