Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsInterprets design documents, completes analysis and creates designs on simple tacticals under general supervisionConducts design walk throughs on own workCodes, tests, and debugs moderately complex programming projects from detailed specifications with supervision across one or more platforms Sets-up unit test plans and assists in system testingAssists in defect incident report cause determination and resolutionProvides status reports on assigned projectsCreates programmer and client documentationAbides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company, Inc.Maintains regular and predictable attendance Marginal FunctionsPerforms other duties and projects as assigned Here's what you need to join the fun: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to effectively interface with customers, clients and other departmentsPossess an understanding of business applicationsPossess good written and verbal skillsAbility to become proficient in the daily operations at Oriental Trading CompanyProficient in database normalization to fourth normal formKnowledge of SourceSafe or other source control softwareUnderstanding of System Analysis, Design, and System IntegrationKnowledge of one of the following: Access, SQL Server, Oracle, DB/2, or DB/2 400Java EE Technologies (ranging from EJB to JSP), HTML, CSS and XMLEducationBachelor's degree or in progress to complete a Bachelor's degree Other QualificationsAbility to perform the job in a safe manner Join us at Oriental Trading, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, where fun means business!
