Creighton University Recreation + Wellness (RecWell) is looking for an Assistant Director of Fitness & Wellness. Housed in the Division of Student Life, RecWell provides recreational and wellness opportunities to Creighton students, faculty,staff and guests. This position is responsible for the development and oversight of the fitness and wellness programs RecWell provides. This role also contributes to several university wide wellness initiatives. Responsibilities Include: Managing the group fitness and personal training programs. Managing wellness programs within the Recreation + Wellness department and contributing to university wide wellness initiatives based on SAMSA's Eight Dimensions of Wellness. Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating 25+ student employees working as group fitness instructors, personal trainers, program assistants and wellness ambassadors. Planning and executing departmental special events. Assisting in department strategic planning. Represents RecWell on university committees, events and initiatives. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required in related field. Master's degree is preferred (i.e. Exercise science, Kinesiology, Sport management, etc.)
- 2 years of related experience; administering group fitness programs, personal training programs and wellness programs.
- Experience organizing and running special events (i.e. wellness fairs, welcome week events, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to navigate conflict effectively.
- Committed to developing students within the Catholic, Jesuit context.
- Committed to positively engaging in, learning from and contributing to a diverse campus culture.
- Night and weekend commitments are expected.
