Tasks of PositionThe following are core and essential responsibilities of this position. Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business. All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company. - Reporting for assigned shifts on time, and on a regular basis, capable of communicating clearly and demonstrating suitable physical abilities to safely perform assigned tasks and duties, prepared to provide excellent service.
- Promoting sales by providing our guests with products that are high in quality, consistent and produced according to the company formulas. Ensuring that product stock levels are appropriate for time of day, season, and promotions.
- Providing exceptional guest service by using the skills outlined in the Make our Guest Crazy About Us" training.
- Understanding and capable of performing the following: finishing par bake products, labeling product, rotating, writing on cakes, writing orders, implementing plan for ads, use of "This One's on Us" cards.
- Maintaining proficiency in the production of the following products in accordance with company formulas and standards, while preserving a sanitary environment: Raised donuts, all cakes donut varieties, cream cake batters (muffins, pound cake, bundt cake) angel food cake, brownies, all cookies batters (gourmet, lunch box, specialty and seasonal) pies (fruit and cream) seasonal items (fudge, peanut brittle) and artisan bread dough and rolls.
- Operating (at minimum) the following equipment in a correct and safe manner: com-line, phone, scales, shrink wrapper, sheeter, doughnut hopper, doughnut fryer, divider/rounder, bread slicer, dishwasher, proof box, glazer, label machine, case lights, ovens, PFM/shrink, and retarder.
- Lowering cut raised doughnuts on racks, or cranking cake doughnut batter into fryer, turning doughnuts with sticks for consistent baking, glazing, frosting, or decorating variety of doughnuts to ensure a creative and quality presentation in the doughnut case.
- Observing color and verifies weight of doughnuts to ensure conformity to standards.
- Ensuring accurate production of doughnut variety by maintaining and analyzing shrink.
- Receiving and checking deliveries upon arrival to ensure ingredients are in good condition and the correct quantities are received.
- Communicating and completing guests' special order requests with accuracy and timeliness.
- Mentoring new associates on task and assuring a positive learning environment.
- Finding a way to make our guests happy.
- Ensuring all work performed in the department is completed in accordance with all local, state, federal and company rules, regulations, and policies regarding workplace safety, food handling safety, and guest services.
- Participating actively in the Bakery Department's accident reduction plan including: maintaining hood/vents, cleaning floors, sanitizing, and recognizing shelf order, safety features of all machinery, store evacuation plan, robbery policy, health codes for bleach, case temperatures, gloves, bin scoops, sink regulations, and storing regulations.
