Job Title: Sr. Field Safety Specialist FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Environmental Health & Safety Reports to: Manager, Environmental Health & Safety GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: This position represents the North American field safety team and supports the development, implementation, and reinforcement of initiatives, rules, and regulations for the mobile workforce in close partnership with field operations business unit leaders. Deliver unrivaled customer service by measuring performance, training and motivating Field Safety Specialists; and effectively partnering with internal and external customers to drive a culture of Safety Excellence in accordance with Loram values to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Safety and Environmental Management - Participate in the information gathering and analysis process for safety performance metrics, incidents, and interactions.
- Collaborate with safety specialists and operations management on initiatives to minimize and mitigate risk.
- Establish and maintain effective business and working relationships with internal and external personnel to accomplish mutual objectives.
- Attend and participate in Loram and customer safety meetings and seminars.
- Lead incident investigations at times, completing Root Cause analysis, and drafting Corrective Action reports. Communications
- Maintain consistent attention to external customer requests and field presence on their properties by attending, participating, and representing the field safety team at Loram and customer safety meetings and seminars
- Draft field interaction reports, root cause corrective action reports, personnel performance evaluations and general initiative status updates in a clear and professional manner
- Conduct presentations with internal and external personnel in various settings using any method of communication including online meetings Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Regularly review performance metrics to assess productivity levels, goal achievement and identify areas needing improvement
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices to identify and recommend, or help justify improvement opportunities in safety performance and practices
- Partner with operations management and key contacts on customer railroads to continuously drive improvements and establish and maintain effective business and working relationships
- Lead the application of the Field Interaction program for the safety team and operations management by developing and implementing deployment plans
- Apply the Because I CARE philosophy in the field by intervening when at risk behaviors are observed and coaching others on its purpose and application.
- Keep apprised of new rules and regulations that affect company operations. Assist in interpreting and applying the changes efficiently.

- High Impact Communications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ Equivalent Experience: 3+ years relative safety experience. 3+ years railroad knowledge and experience. Licenses/Certifications: Maintain railroad safety training and certifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate Degree and/or bachelor's degree Experience: DOT, ISO knowledge and experience. Licenses/Certifications: Obtain yellow, green, and/or black belt certification. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is considered a safety sensitive role.
