As a vital member of our logistics framework, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our transport services. This position requires a skilled individual dedicated to delivering exceptional value and adherence to safety protocols at every phase of the transportation process. Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to transport goods and materials over varying distances while adhering to all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record. Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip to ensure that the mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible. Follow routes and schedules as determined by dispatch personnel. Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, adhering to federal and state regulations. Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics staff to ensure smooth operation and immediate addressing of issues or delays. Handle documentation related to deliveries, such as bills of lading and customer paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Strong driving skills and familiarity with truck maintenance. Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle schedules and deadlines. Good physical health and endurance to manage long hours and potential heavy lifting. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with dispatchers and customers. Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
