Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity calls for a skilled RN with Stepdown/Cardiac Progressive care experience to support a dynamic Cardiac Transitional Care Unit. Working the night shift, 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly, you will provide expert nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment where collaboration and communication are essential. Qualifications / Desired Experience: - Registered Nurse licensure with at least 1 year of Stepdown/Cardiac Progressive care experience - Current ACLS and BLS certifications required - Strong ability to float across units as needed - Proven teamwork and communication skills with meticulous documentation habits - Ability to handle a patient ratio of approximately 3-4:1 in a Stepdown care setting - Competency in IV therapy, including central line care - Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic medical records (EMR) systems Responsibilities / Duties: - Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on patient assessments and histories - Monitor and document changes in patient conditions, adjusting care plans accordingly - Administer medications, wound care, and other interventions while monitoring for side effects - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and patient safety - Provide patient and family education on health conditions, medications, and discharge instructions - Maintain compliance with infection control policies and The Joint Commission standards - Serve as a patient advocate and promote a culture of safety at all times - Participate in unit-specific duties supporting organizational mission and values Job Type: Contract assignment, 13-26 weeks, with an option of 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week. Weekend shifts are rotating with expectations of working every other full weekend, including one major winter holiday. Up to five days off per 13-week period are pre-approved. Additional Requirements: Flu vaccination is mandatory from November 1 through April 1 unless an approved exemption is granted.
