DEPARTMENT: Retail StoreREPORTS TO: Store ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptPOSITION TYPE: Full-Time POSITION SUMMARY:The inside sales coordinator is responsible for bidding and selling materials for homes, poles barns, and other general construction needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Answer any customer questions or concerns in a prompt and friendly mannerBid materials used for houses, pole barns, and other general construction needsAssist Department Manager in coordination of delivery trucksAssist with purchases and customer inquiries at the contract sales counterContact customers, when necessary, to follow-up on ordersMaintain working knowledge of products and servicesStock and Recover merchandise on the sales floorKeep work area clean and organizedOperate pallet jacks and forklifts, as neededAdhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance proceduresGeneral use of computer to check prices and inventoriesCreate special orders, as neededMay operate forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and materialsSafety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customersPromptly handle any customer complaints, questions, or concerns in a professional and friendly mannerAdditional duties, as assigned REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent Customer Service skillsMust possess strong work ethic and interpersonal skillsBasic computer skillsKnowledge of building materials is requiredConstruction background preferredVersatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities, with enthusiasmAbility to:Effectively communicate with customers, in-person and over the phoneRead blueprints; accute attention to detailCalculate different aspects of siding, shingles, metal, etc.Maintain a pleasant and calm disposition under stressUnderstand and follow oral and written instructionsDemonstrate initiative and effective problem-solving skills within the scope of the position Physical Requirements:The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
