Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Lab Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in Houston, TX. This is a 3month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Title: Technical Lab - Lab Assistant Location: Houston TX 77072 Pay Rate: $16/hr - $17.20/hr on W2. Duration: 3 Months Shift: Tues - Sat 1st shift 5:00am to 1:30pm *Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications. Job Responsibilities: Maintains and organizes department files. Changes gas cylinders and follows all PPE and safety regulations. Uses the laboratory computer system and operates PCs. Disposes of biohazardous materials safely. Completes required training and competency checklists. Sorts and receives specimens, performs routine instrument maintenance, and completes centrifuging, labeling, data recording, and specimen storage tasks. Prepares reagents, media, and test-ready specimens (worklists, aliquoting, checking for clots/fibrin, inoculation, slide prep). Performs QA/QC duties, resolves pending lists, finds missing samples, and decontaminates work areas. Conducts weekly radioactive wipe tests and follows all lab safety procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
